Solution
Polymers in which the repeating structural units are derived from only one type of monomer unit are called homopolymers. Such polymers are obtained by polymerisation of a single monomeric species. Polythene (Polyethylene) is a homopolymer formed from the monomer ethene (CH2 = CH2).
