Taking the volume of H2 calculated in 5(b), what changes must be made in kelvin (absolute) temperature to return the volume to 2500 cm3 pressure remaining constant?

Solution

Given: Initial Volume of H2 at STP (V) = 2500 cm3

V1 = `5000/7`cm3

V2 = 2500 cm3

Formula: T2 = `V_2/V_1 xx T_1`

∴ T2 = `(2500 xx 7)/5000 xx T_1`

= 3.5 T1

∴ T2 is increased to 3.5 times.
