Answer 1

The Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) programme helps people, especially in rural and disadvantaged areas, gain useful vocational skills so that they can earn a livelihood and become self-reliant.

Some important features of JSS are:

1. Skill-based training: It provides practical training in locally useful trades and occupations.
2. Focus on disadvantaged groups: It especially supports school dropouts, people with limited education, women, and economically weaker sections.
3. Employment and self-employment: The training helps learners find work or start small businesses of their own.
4. Local opportunities: Courses are chosen according to the needs and resources available in the local area.
5. Community development: JSS encourages people to improve their income, confidence, and standard of living.
6. Government initiative: It functions under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.

Thus, JSS helps rural communities by providing practical skills, livelihood opportunities, and greater economic independence.
