Solution

I visited a few historical buildings and memorials in and around my neighbourhood and learned about their importance.

Gateway of India: The Gateway of India is one of the most famous historical monuments in Mumbai. It was built during British rule and was completed in 1924. It was constructed to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to India. The monument faces the Arabian Sea and is an important landmark of the city.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus is a historic railway station known for its beautiful architecture. It was completed in 1888 and was earlier known as Victoria Terminus. It reflects the architectural style of the British period and is now an important heritage building.

Hutatma Chowk: Hutatma Chowk is an important memorial in Mumbai. It honours the people who sacrificed their lives during the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement for the creation of Maharashtra State. It reminds us of their courage and contribution.
