• Triggering New Movements: A singular social movement rarely stops after achieving its initial goal; it acts as a catalyst for subsequent struggles. The Anti-Arrack agitation empowered marginalised rural women, building strong social solidarity. This newly realised political power directly gave rise to the women’s reservation campaign in local panchayats and fuelled the institutional growth of women’s economic Self-Help Groups across the country.
• Sociological Inference: This shows that social movements do not operate in isolation. They form an ongoing chain reaction where fighting one structural inequality (like alcoholism) exposes and builds tools to challenge deeper systemic inequalities (like patriarchy and poverty).
