A comparative study of the Vedas, the Koran, and the Bible (the old Testament and New Testament) convinced Raja Ram Mohan Roy about the basic unity in the fundamental truths of all religions. According to him, religion was central to an individual’s life. Every aspect of social life revolved around religious beliefs. He propagated religious ideas based on the philosophy of the Vedas.
