‘There are times when truth must be sacrificed.’ Do you agree? Why/why not?

I do not completely agree that truth should be sacrificed. In Keeping It from Harold, Mr. and Mrs. Bramble hid the truth to protect Harold’s feelings, but their lies created more problems. Honesty is generally better, and children should be taught to accept and respect the truth.
