• A farmer: I would like to say that polluted water is affecting our crops and animals. The water of the Ganga is not clean enough for irrigation. I request the Municipal Corporation to stop factories from releasing waste into the river.
• An environmentalist: I strongly recommend that strict steps should be taken to control air and water pollution. More trees should be planted, and industries should treat their waste before releasing it. Public awareness campaigns should also be organised.
• Chairman of the Municipal Corporation: I understand the seriousness of the problem. The Corporation will take steps to improve waste disposal, clean polluted areas and check industries that are breaking pollution-control rules. We will also encourage citizens to keep the city clean.
• President of ‘Save the Ganga Project’: I urge the authorities to protect the Ganga from sewage, garbage and industrial waste. Regular cleaning of the river and strict monitoring of factories are necessary. People should also be encouraged not to throw waste into the river.
• Human rights activist: Clean air and clean water are necessary for a healthy life. Pollution affects the health and safety of the people. I recommend that the authorities act quickly and make sure that every citizen has access to a clean and safe environment.
