Solution

Population of the village = 8000 people

Literate people = 80% of population

= 80% of 8000

= `80/100 xx 8000`

Literate people = 6400

Percentage of women = 40%

Number of women = 40% of literate people

= `40/100 xx 6400`

= 2560

∴ Literate women : Total population

= 2560 : 8000

= 8 : 25
