Solution

Perimeter of rectangle = 70 cm

Let, length = x and breadth = y

x = 2y + 5    ...(1)

Perimeter = 2(x + y)

70 = 2(x + y)

x + y = `70/2`

x + y = 35   ...(2)

From equation (1), substitute the value of x in equation (2).

2y + 5 + y = 35

3y = 35 − 5

3y = 30

y = `30/3`

y = 10

x = 2(10) + 5

x = 25

∴ Length = 25 cm and Breadth = 10 cm
