Nowadays, one of the biggest debates that environmentalists engage in is related to the preference of transport - private or public. Though it is believed that the number of cars that a country produces every year is one way of measuring its prosperity, the ruckus and tumult it creates in terms of traffic jams, road rage, etc. is quite high. Moreover, the high rate of pollution leads to the dearth of fresh air to breathe in and peace of mind. Private transport, be it a car or motorcycle, provides comfort to human beings but at the cost of our environment. The huge number of automobiles on road is the cause of the ever increasing carbon dioxide content, thereby leading to global warming.
We always talk about giving our coming generations comfort, but what about giving them a good planet to live on? We can do away with most of our problems related to automobiles by using public transport. It is high time that people understand the need to adopt public transport as it is our escape ticket from pollution and health related problems.
