The mean marks of 30 students = 70
The mean marks of the other 29 students = 69
Total marks of all students = mean × number of students
= 70 × 30
= 2100
Total marks of the other 29 students = mean × number of students
= 69 × 29
= 2001
Marks of the topper = Total marks of all students − Total marks of the other 29 students
= 2100 − 2001
= 99
The marks of the topper are 99.
