Solution
a. Dosage prescribed for an adult dog is `1/2` tsp per 9 kg body weight.
∴ For a 18 kg adult dog, dosage = `((1/2))/9 xx 18`
= `1/(2 xx 9) xx 18`
= `1/18 xx 18`
= 1 tsp
b. Dosage prescribed for a cat is `1/4` tsp per 1 kg body weight.
∴ For a 6 kg cat, dosage = `((1/4))/1 xx 6`
= `1/4 xx 6` tsp
= `6/4 = 3/2` tsp
= `1 1/2` tsp
c. Dosage prescribed for pregnant dogs is `1/2` tsp per 4.5 kg body weight.
∴ For a 18 kg pregnant dog, dosage = `((1/2))/4.5 xx 18`
= `1/(2 xx 4.5) xx 18`
= `1/9 xx 18`
= `18/9` tsp
= 2 tsp
