- 1 – Earth, 2 – Neutral, 3 – Live
- Terminal 1 is connected to the outer metallic case of the appliance.
- The fuse is connected to live wire joined to 3 so that in case of excessive flow of current, the fuse melts first and breaks down the circuit to protect appliances.
