- To which class of lever does it belong?
- If AB = 1 m, AF = 0.4 m, find its mechanical advantage.
- Calculate the value of E.

Load arm AF = 0.4 m

∴ Effort arm BF = 1 – 0.4 = 0.6 m
Load = 15 kgf
(a) ∵ Between load and effort is F. It is class I lever.
(b) M.A. = `"Effort arm BF"/"Load arm AF"`
= `0.6 / 0.4`
= 1.5
(c) E × Effort arm = L × Load arm
E × 0.6 = 15 × 0.4
E = `6.0/0.6`
= 10 kgf
