The difference between an integer x – (−9) = 6 or −9 – x = 6

∴ Value of x

⇒ x – (−9) = 6 or ⇒ −9 − x = 6

⇒ x + 9 = 6 or −x = 6 + 9

⇒ x = 6 – 9 or ⇒ −x = 15

⇒ x = −3 or ⇒ x = −15

Hence, the possible values of x are −3 and −15.
