Solution

(a) Process: Haber’s process.

(b) A: Nitrogen

B: Hydrogen

C: Ammonia

(c) Ratio of A and B:

N2 : H2 = 1 : 3

(d) Equation and conditions:

\[\ce{N2 + 3H2 ⇔ 2NH3}\]

Conditions: About 500°C, 250 atmospheric pressure, and finely divided iron as a catalyst.

(e) The product ammonia is separated by cooling the gaseous mixture. Ammonia liquefies more easily, while the unreacted nitrogen and hydrogen remain gaseous and are recirculated.
