The cost of `19/4` metres of wire is Rs. `171/2`. Find the cost of one metre of the wire.

Solution
The cost of `19/4` m of wire = ₹ `171/2`
∴ Cost of 1 m of wire = `171/2 ÷ 19/4`
= `171/2 xx 4/19`
= 9 × 2
= ₹ 18
Hence, the cost of 1 m of wire is ₹ 18.
