Short Presentation: The Central Message
Good morning, everyone.
Today I am going to speak about the central message of the film Home Alone. The story follows Kevin McCallister, a young boy who is accidentally left at home when his family leaves for a Christmas trip. At first, he thinks being alone is wonderful. He can do what he likes without anyone telling him what to do. However, when two burglars try to break into his house, Kevin realises that being on his own is not always fun. He bravely comes up with a series of clever tricks to protect his home.
The film is very funny, but it also has a warm message. Kevin often argues with his family and feels that they do not understand him. Once he is alone, he begins to miss them and understands how much they matter to him. His family, too, realises that they must find a way to return to him.
The film teaches us that family members may sometimes annoy one another, but they care for and need each other. It also shows that courage does not depend on age: Kevin faces a frightening situation by thinking calmly and using his imagination. In the end, Home Alone reminds us to value our loved ones and to be resourceful when problems arise.
Thank you.
