Solution

Situations (i) and (ii) are possible.

According to Newton’s First Law of Motion, an object remains at rest or continues to move with a constant velocity if no net external force acts on it.

However, situation (iii) is not possible because a constant non-zero acceleration means the velocity keeps changing, which can only happen when a net force is acting on the object.
