Junk Food: A major concern
The picture depicts the school kids looking and buying the wafer packet and the junk food in the shop while going to or coming from school. This issue of kids eating junk food and outside food is a significant concern these years. Nowadays, every locality and every mall has a junk food outlet, dishing out fries, pizzas, burgers, rolls, and what have you! It is a significant concern worldwide that children in their growing years form the more substantial part of such outlet’s consumers. Keeping your child away from these less nutritious yet delicious junk foods is challenging. The increasing awareness of the effects of junk food is slower than the pace of its impact on your child. Understanding all about junk food and how to replace it with healthy eating is something we are sure will help you be a better ‘food police’ the next time. According to a study published in the Journal of Children and Media, children prefer junk snacks over traditional home-cooked food. This choice has been attributed to the powerful marketing strategies of multinational corporations that sell processed foods with low nutritional value, as per the researchers. The researchers also had children rate how much they loved and desired various domestic and international products. Character and logo recognition in young children were consistently and significantly related to the selection of international over domestic products. The study found that the influence of logo recognition was even more potent than media exposure. According to the findings, the children who quickly identified the logos of international food and beverage brands like Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), McDonald's and Coca-Cola were more likely to prefer the processed foods marketed by these global brands. Junk food has always been associated with various health risks, especially among kids. Here's what junk may do to a child's health, such as causing memory and learning problems, obesity, lesser ability to control appetite, anxiety & many more. Hence, it is a need of the hour to keep a check on our children’s diet to ensure they stay healthy and fit.

It is widely believed that people do their best work when they are promised rewards for their achievements. Our schools and workplaces operate on the assumption that good work occurs when people are competing for grades, money, or recognition from others. In truth, the prospect of rewards provided by others can inhibit and limit people’s drive and creativity. People do their best work when motivated from within by their enjoyment of a particular challenge and their satisfaction in doing something well.
What do you think motivates people to do their best? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observation.
