Solution

Given:

DNA in 1 cell = 6 feet

Number of cells = 37.2 trillion = 37.2 × 1012

Calculation:

Total length of DNA:

= 6 × 37.2 × 1012

= 223.2 × 1012 feet

Using 1 foot = 0.30 m:

= 223.2 × 1012 × 0.30

= 66.96 × 1012 m

= 6.696 × 1013 m

The total length of all DNA strands is 6.696 × 1013 m.
