The Constitution of India has provided for three legislative lists which enumerate the subjects of administration- Union List, State List and the Concurrent List. Only the Central Government can frame laws on the subjects included in the Union List and state government can frame laws on the subjects included in the State List. In Concurrent List both the governments can frame laws.
