Solve the inequation given below and represent its solution set on a number line:

9 ≤ 1 – 2x, x ∈ {–3, –4, –5, –6}

Given,

⇒ 9 ≤ 1 – 2x

⇒ 1 – 2x ≥ 9

⇒ –2x ≥ 9 – 1

⇒ –2x ≥ 8

Dividing by –2 on both sides we get,

⇒ x ≤ –4   ...(As on dividing by negative no. the sign reverses)

Since, x ∈ {–3, –4, –5, –6}.

Hence, solution set = {–4, –5, –6}.
