Solve the inequation given below and represent its solution set on a number line:

`2x + 7/2 > (5x)/3 + 3, x ∈ I`

Solution

Given,

⇒ `2x + 7/2 > (5x)/3 + 3`

Multiplying by 6 on both sides we get,

⇒ `6(2x + 7/2) > 6((5x)/3 + 3)`

⇒ 12x + 21 > 10x + 18

⇒ 12x – 10x > 18 – 21

⇒ 2x > –3

⇒ `x > - 3/2`

⇒ x > –15

Since, x ∈ I

Hence, solution set = {–1, 0, 1, 2, 3,....}.
