x2 – 16x + 6 = 0
Here a = 1, b = – 16 and c = 6
∴ `x = (-b ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/(2a)`
= `(-(-16) ± sqrt((-16)^2 - 4(1)(6)))/(2(1))`
= `(16 ± sqrt232)/2`
= `(16 ± 15.231)/2`
`x = (16 + 15.231)/2` or `x = (16 - 15.231)/2`
∴ `x = (16 + 15.231)/2`
x = 15.616
∴ x = `(16 - 15.231)/2`
x = 0.384
