Solution
Example 1: During the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s 1967-1972 administration, she implemented bold left-wing policies to reclaim the territory Congress had lost in the 1967 elections. These included social control over banks, the nationalization of General Insurance, a cap on urban property and income, public food distribution, land reforms, and low-income housing.
Example 2: Despite complaints from Moratji Desai and other leaders, the late Ms. Indira Gandhi abolished the Privy Purse, a significant election issue, in 1971. Like her father, Pandit Nehru, she considered that hereditary advantages violated the Indian Constitution's objectives of equality and socioeconomic justice.
