Solution

Book Review of ‘The Jungle Book’

The Jungle Book is a storytelling masterpiece by the English author Rudyard Kipling. It has been adapted many times in various languages, for both books and media. It has been a favourite amongst kids for years.

The story revolves around a boy called ‘Mowgli’, who has been adopted and raised by a pack of wolves in a forest located in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The other characters, Akela, Bagheera, Baloo, Kaa, and Sher Khan, are all animals. Kipling gives these animals human traits, intentions and emotions. He explores both positive and negative emotions and values, such as following the order within the society (the law of the jungle), responsibilities, competition, mutual respect, jealousy, false pride, etc. The book never fails to charm the readers with its clever description of Mowgli’s adventures. It shows how teamwork, obedience, family values, and moral courage can achieve victory over even the most powerful evil.
