Solution
'Rising prices can be controlled only by the government'
By Karuna
A very good morning to jury members, friends and my fellow opponents. Today, I am going to speak against the motion on the topic 'Rising prices can be controlled only by the government'. The role of government in an economy is to announce measures of regulation and control. A government can impose restrictions on hoarding, the export of some items and track prices of limited commodities. However, the execution vests in the custody of the people residing the nation.
There are several factors that lead to 'rising prices', in economic terms, is called 'Inflation'. The factors range from a variety of reasons such as population growth, an increase in income, increase in demand, spending on imports and foreign goods etc. Factors such as hoarding and import can be regulated by the government only to a certain extent. It is in the will of the citizens to act sensibly.
Rising income has also played an important role in drafting the bridge between rich and poor. Also, the worst suffers from inflation are the people living in poverty. The imbalance could be stabilized if the affluent ones start donating or funding. I strongly cling to my view that rising prices cannot be controlled solely by the government and it requires sensibility from the public end.
