Represent the solution of the following inequalities on the real number line:

4x – 1 > x + 11

Given: 4x – 1 > x + 11

⇒ 4x – x > 11 + 1

⇒ 3x > 12

Dividing both sides by 3 we get,

⇒ x > 4

∴ Solution set = {x : x ∈ R and x > 4}.
