Child Labour Ring Uncovered in Stone Quarry Rescue
Mumbai, 18th April 2024: In a shocking instance of child exploitation, a group of underage laborers was rescued from illegal stone quarries in Rajasthan today. A joint operation by local police and child welfare organizations led to the liberation of 20 minors working in appalling conditions.
Following a confidential tip-off, officials conducted early morning raids on multiple quarries. These children, aged 8 to 14 years, had been reported missing and were forced into grueling labor. The police have arrested the quarry operators and are pursuing additional suspects linked to this child labor network.
The state government has vowed to investigate the lapses that allowed such illegal activities to persist undetected. Meanwhile, the rescued children are undergoing medical check-ups and will be provided with rehabilitation and therapy services.
The incident has ignited public protests demanding stricter enforcement of child labor laws and improved protections for vulnerable children.
