Solution

Children often reciprocate their parents’ love through affection, trust, care and a desire to spend time with them. However, they may not always express it openly because of age, temperament, stress or difficulty understanding a parent’s feelings. Their behaviour should not be taken as proof that they do not love their parents. Parents and children can build a stronger bond through listening, patience, respect and honest communication. Like Marian, children especially need reassurance that they are loved and accepted for who they are.
