Solution
Total salary = ₹ 13500
My savings = `1/3` of ₹ 13500 = ₹ 4500
Remaining salary = ₹ 13500 − 4500
= ₹ 9000
Amount spent on food = 50% of ₹ 9000
= Rs. `50/100xx9000` = ₹ 4500
Amount spent on rent = 20% of ₹ 9000
= `₹20/100xx9000` = ₹ 1800
Total amount spent on food and rent
= ₹ 4500 + ₹ 1800 = ₹ 6300
