Kinds of Musical Instruments

There are different kinds of musical instruments. They are played on different occasions. They are divided into three main classes according to how they are played. Some instruments are played by blowing air into them. They are called wind instruments. Examples of wind instruments made from wood and brass are the flute, trumpet, clarinet and horn. There are also various other wind instruments, such as the mouth organ and bagpipes.

Certain instruments are played by striking or banging. We refer to these instruments as percussion instruments. The drum, tambourine, tabla, and so forth are some examples. Strings are the last major category of musical instruments. Some are played by pulling a bow across the strings, while plucking strings plays others. The guitar and harp are two examples of these instruments, while the violin and cello are further varieties. We are unable to appreciate the sweetness of melodies without these musical instruments.
