Solution

Globalisation itself does not necessarily lead to smuggling. It increases cross-border trade, but smuggling occurs when goods are brought in illegally to avoid customs duties, import restrictions or regulations. Weak enforcement, high taxes and demand for cheap products may encourage smuggling.
