1. Air exerts pressure and has weight. It always stays in contact with the soil and the water when it is pressed down.
2. Due to their physical contact, exchange of gases between air, land and water takes place on a continuous basis.
3. Because of this interaction, nitrogen and oxygen are absorbed by the soil. Due to evaporation, water vapour in the atmosphere rises from the oceans.
4. Carbon dioxide in air helps in absorption of heat and keeps the earth warm at night.
5. The atmosphere is the most dynamic entity due to its makeup. Huge volumes of air are being transported over the earth’s surface as well as up and down.
6. The energy of the sun is responsible for keeping the atmosphere in a dynamic state.
