Question

Make a list of issues or problems (other than the ones mentioned in the text) that cannot be handled by any one country and require an international organisation.

Answer 1

Some problems that require international cooperation are:

1. International terrorism and cross-border organised crime.
2. Cyberattacks, cybercrime and misuse of artificial intelligence.
3. Refugee movements and trafficking in persons.
4. Drug trafficking and money laundering.
5. Nuclear, chemical and biological weapons proliferation.
6. Ocean pollution, plastic waste and protection of marine resources.
7. Food insecurity and international food-supply disruptions.
8. Global financial crises and regulation of multinational corporations.
9. Protection of endangered species and biodiversity.
10. Management of outer space and prevention of space debris.

These problems cross national borders; therefore, information-sharing, common rules and coordinated action are essential.
