I would like to nominate Neeraj Chopra, India’s celebrated javelin thrower, for a wax statue at Madame Tussauds, London. A check of Madame Tussauds London’s current public listings does not show him among its displayed personalities.

Neeraj Chopra has brought great honor to India through his outstanding achievements in athletics. He became the first Indian athlete to win an Olympic gold medal in track and field and has inspired millions of young people to take an interest in athletics.

Apart from his sporting success, he is admired for his discipline, dedication, humility and determination. His achievements have helped popularise the javelin throw in India and have encouraged young sportspersons to dream beyond traditional games such as cricket.

I strongly feel that his wax statue would be a fitting tribute to his contribution to international sport and would inspire visitors from across the world.
