Explanation:
Since OA = OB
∴ OB = 15cm
∴ ΔOBP is a right angled triangle.
∴ OB2 + BP2 = OP2
⇒ (15)2 + (20)2 = OP2
⇒ OP2 = 625
⇒ OP = 25 cm
The shortest distance between circle and P is CP.
We know, OC = 15 cm
∴ CP = OP – OC
= (25 – 15) cm
= 10 cm
