Kamal and her sister together have ₹2,100. On taking ₹300 from her sister, Kamal will have the same amount as what her sister had earlier. Find the ratio of the initial amounts that Kamal and her sister had.

Explanation:
kamal (x) + her sister (y) = ₹2100 .......(i)
A.T.Q,
(x +300) = (y)
⇒ y − x = 300 .......(ii)
Solving these two equations,
x + y = ₹2100
y − x = ₹300
⇒ 2y = 2400
∴ y = ₹1200
Therefore, x + 1200 = 2100
∴ x = ₹900
Ratio of kamal & her sister= 900 : 1200
= 3:4
