The Quit India Resolution was adopted by the Indian National Congress on 8th August, 1942 during the Bombay session of the All India Congress Committee. The resolution, moved by Jawaharlal Nehru and approved under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, demanded an end to British rule in India.
