Stanza 2: (i) The wave that briefly charged the desolate sea has broken. (ii) Distance outmeasures time and engulfs identity.

Stanza 3: (i) The dreamer’s vivid image is lost on waking. (ii) The dreamer’s eyes are not alive to weep.

Stanza 4: (i) The small white murder of one kiss. (ii) The two worlds apart tomorrow.
