Let the height of the bird above the ground be h,

When the bird is on the tree, the distance from the bird to its shadow = H + h = 130.

When the bird is on the ground, the distance from the ground point to the same shadow = H − h = 100.

Then, equations will be:

H + h = 130     ...(1)

H − h = 100     ...(2)

Subtracting equation (2) from equation (1):

(H + h) − (H − h) = 130 − 100

2h = 30

h = `30/2`

∴ h = 15

Hence, the height of the bird above the ground is 15m.
