State-level parties are sharing power at the central level and have been playing a central role in the politics of the country for the last two decades. 
3. Focus on pragmatic considerations: Most of the political parties’ emphasis is on practical considerations rather than ideological positions. The coalition politics has shifted political alignments from ideological differences to power-sharing agreements. 
4. New economic policies: Most political parties came to support the new economic policies, as they believed that these policies would lead the country to prosperity and a status of economic power in the world.
