The midnight Sun in Norway happens because Earth’s axis is tilted about 23.5° during Northern Hemisphere summer (around the June solstice) the North Pole is tilted toward the Sun so the circle of illumination covers regions north of the Arctic Circle, meaning the Sun stays above the horizon for 24 hours there; since Norway extends into and beyond the Arctic Circle those northern parts can see the Sun even at local midnight (the farther north, the longer the continuous daylight).
