Solution

Slide 1: What is nature’s fury? Nature’s fury refers to hazards such as droughts, floods, cyclones, storms, heatwaves, wildfires and landslides. Their effects become worse when people and communities are unprepared.

Slide 2: Consequences These events can cause deaths and injuries, destroy homes and crops, damage roads and disrupt schools and health services. Drought can reduce harvests and water supplies; floods can contaminate drinking water. In “At a Potato Digging”, crop blight leads to hunger and suffering. In “Patrolling Barnegat”, people struggle against a violent storm.

Slide 3: Why impacts are increasing Climate change, deforestation, polluted waterways, unplanned building and the destruction of natural habitats can increase risks or make communities more vulnerable.

Slide 4: Alternatives and solutions We cannot prevent every natural hazard, but we can reduce harm: conserve water, plant trees, protect wetlands, maintain clean drains, build safely and choose sustainable farming practices. Early-warning systems, evacuation plans, emergency supplies and public awareness save lives.

Slide 5: Our responsibility Governments, communities and individuals all have a role. Let us prepare for hazards, protect ecosystems and support people affected by disasters. Caring for nature is also a way of protecting ourselves.

Closing: Respect nature. Reduce risk. Be prepared.
