Solution
Let x be the number of boys and y be the number of girls.
As 60% students are boys and 40% are girls.
`x/y = 60/40 = 3/2 => therefore x = 3/2y`
By admitting 16 more boys and 8 girls, now boys and girls are x + 16 and y + 8.
Since their ratios is 8 : 5
x = `3/2` y = 48
