Given,

⇒ 3 + 2(x + 1) > –1

⇒ 3 + 2x + 2 > –1

⇒ 2x + 5 > –1

⇒ 2x > –1 – 5

⇒ 2x > –6

Dividing 2 on both sides we get,

⇒ x > –3

Since, x is a negative integer

⇒ Solution set = {–2, –1}.
