Solution

If the product of the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial x2 – 3ax + 2a2 – 1 is 7, then a = ±2.

Explanation:

For x2 – 3ax + 2a2 – 1,

The product of the roots = `("Constant term")/("Coefficient of"  x^2)`

= 2a2 – 1

Set 2a2 – 1 = 7

⇒ 2a2 = 8

⇒ a2 = 4

⇒ a = ±2
