Solution

Given: α and β are the zeros of 2x2 + 7x + 5.

For a quadratic ax2 + bx + c,

`α + β = -b/a` and `αβ = c/a`

Here a = 2, b = 7, c = 5,

So, `α + β = -7/2` and `αβ = 5/2`.

Therefore, `α + β + αβ = (-7/2) + (5/2)`

= `(-2/2)`

= –1
